The Malta Table Tennis Association organised its second ranking tournaments for its young members under 18 years of age.

The events organised were Cadets (under-15) and Juniors (under-18). Both tournaments were held at the University Sports Hall Tal-Qroqq.

In the Juniors Under-18 the much improved Matthew Micallef was the overall winner when in the final he beat Daniel Vella by 4-3 in a very high level final.

In the Plate event of this tournament Jessica Pace beat Julian Caruana 4-1.

It is to be noted that players who are eliminated in the qualifying round compete in the Plate event.

In the Cadets (under-15) Daniel Vella was in splendid form when in the final he beat the up-coming youngster Daniel Bajada by 4-2. In the Plate event Ramon Grech beat Michael Grech by 4-2.
