Manchester City Football Club were yesterday reported to be keen on Malta striker Michael Mifsud, according to the FansFC.com website.
Mifsud is currently contracted to Lillestrom where he has bagged eleven goals in 19 games this season, yet his deal expires at the end of this year.
The website claimed that Sheffield United have in the past registered an interest in the 25-year-old and were expected to move again for the player, but added that City were also in the running and will be hopeful of beating the Blades to his signature.
The website report quoted Mifsud as saying: "For me it is not a matter of money, but to get the most out of my career. Therefore I desire to join a bigger club in a bigger league. Both Manchester City and Sheffield United have been mentioned, but no offers have come yet. In case nothing happens, I might talk to LSK again."
Earlier Mifsud had also been linked with other English clubs like Bolton Wanderers, Coventry City and Norwich City.
