This is the company to whom I forward my cheques to pay water and electricity bills, so if I ever get a response, it should come from the Water Services Corporation.

With regard to water and electricity billing, this entity is still not producing what consumers expect.

Four years ago we were promised a bill every two months, ie six bills a year, and a meter reading twice a year – an ideal system for one to square even, every six months, or at the end of the sixth bill. In today’s world of super technology, computers galore and expectations of a binding contract to the Smart City Project, one would think that such a feat is quite possible, but not to the said corporation… I repeat, it is not delivering.

Some months ago (on a non-compulsory system) I suggested a fair deal for everybody. A lot of people with whom I have discussed this wholeheartedly agree that a monthly bank standing order to pay these bills will be the best way to reduce the impact of the hefty estimated bills that we are receiving today. The monthly sum could be worked out by the individual and, at the end of the year, he/she is either in credit or in debit. But even if in debit, the impact will be less negative.

The trouble with this country is pride. Not one head of any corporation will bow his head to admit that ordinary working people have a bit of brain and at times they also put it to work. Besides, just think of the high amount of cash that the corporation will have at its disposal. Hopefully, one day someone will

listen.
