Court: Charged With theft

Two men were yesterday accused of stealing a number of computers and other equipment worth more than Lm1,000.

Alexander Anthony Gialanze Whiteford, 24, from Hamrun and Josef Sharfid, 31, from Valletta, were charged with stealing two computers, various DVDs and a substantial amount of cash and cheques from JNL Imports in Pietà on 11 April 2005.

They were also charged with damaging the shop, receiving stolen goods and relapsing. Sharfid alone was also charged with breaching a number of court orders.

Before Magistrate Audrey Demicoli, the men pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against them.

Dr Jose Herrera and Dr Veronique Dalli appeared for the men.
