The Accountancy Board in collaboration with the Quality Assurance Oversight Committee announces the launch of the new website which can be accessed on www.accountancyboard.gov.mt
Accountants, auditors and other stakeholders alike are set to benefit from the launch of the revamped website launched by the Accountancy Board on 6 December 2006.
The site provides access to a wealth of knowledge about the Accountancy Board and the Quality Assurance Oversight Committee where one can actually download regulatory information and other information, and place any queries or concerns about the profession in general. This should encourage greater communication between the Accountancy Board, accountants and auditors and the public at large.
In addition, the Quality Assurance Oversight Committee has put up a number of documents pertaining to the quality assurance function.
Some key areas of the site include:
• A new Annual Return that should be submitted by all accountants and auditors till the end of January 2007;
• Application for Accountant and Auditor warrants;
• Regulations governing the profession; and
•Forms necessary for Quality Assurance Review Visits.
It is expected that this website will develop over time and will include a facility enabling the payment of annual registration or regulatory fees as well as the submission of annual mandatory forms online.
The Accountancy Board said that by making itself more accessible through the internet, a new relationship will be secured with the public it serves.
