As part of the “Tree for You” initiative, Club Italia, a non-profit organisation whose members are mainly Italian nationals living in Malta, took part in the first plantation phase with a donation of 56 olive trees. This area will be called Boschetto Italia. The Ambassador of Italy, Paolo Andrea Trabalza and Mrs Trabalza, Minister George Pullicino, Dr Domenico Bellato, First Secretary at the Italian Embassy in Malta, D.ssa Anna Maria Di Marco, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute, Fr Gino Gauci, parish priest of the Italian Community in Malta as well as Mrs Ermanna Maccarelli Sommei, chairperson of Club Italia, were present for the ceremony which took place at Salina Grove. A second phase of tree-planting will be held on 16 December.
