Body Works – Body Matters

Malta Independent Sunday, 10 December 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

Body Works Health and Fitness of St Julian’s, celebrated its recent expansion to include Body Matters Health and Beauty. Services now consist of Pilates, personal training, physiotherapy, beauty, aromatherapy, reflexology, Indian head massage, deep tissue massage, NLP, Reiki and holistic massage.

The philosophy behind Body Works is to create a Health and Well Being Centre where the therapists are independent but interrelated. At Body Works it is not the particular service that is stressed but the therapists and the way in which they deliver it. All therapists at Body Works are committed to an in-house professional code of conduct, providing a high level of service and continuing further professional development.

Body Works’ concept was created from the movement in the UK where the gap between modern medicine and alterative therapies has narrowed and where it is not uncommon to see doctors operating under the same roof as aromatherapists.

The change in attitude by the medical world is largely due to an increase in alternative therapies setting up self regulatory governing bodies to set professional codes of conduct for their practitioners.

This has led to therapists becoming more knowledgeable and more professional as well as helping the public identify whose qualifications are certified.

With this is mind, Body Works has its own in house professional code of conduct to which all therapists are committed to obtain the best level of qualifications, providing a high standard of service while maintaining a high level of professionalism.

Director of Body Works, Bryn Kennard commented “we are building a unique and dynamic team of therapists and practitioners who want to really focus on being proud of the place they work in and the way they deliver their service.”
