Go Mobile has pledged to keep all its subscribers fully informed about the dual display system being launched this month and to ensure that the pricing process remains entirely fair throughout the euro changeover period.

Go Mobile was one of the very first companies to sign up for the National Euro Changeover Committee’s pilot project promoting the FAIR (Fair Pricing Agreement in Retailing) programme, which was launched last week.

Only a select number of businesses that satisfied the National Euro Changeover Committee’s criteria are being allowed to use the ‘FAIR’ trust mark as of this month. The trust mark is being used as part of a programme that aims to ensure retailers do not increase prices unfairly in the run-up to the introduction of the single currency and commit to implementing correct dual display of monetary amounts during the voluntary dual display period.

NECC chairman Joseph F. X. Zahra presented Peter Gauci with a letter of acceptance into FAIR after the Go Mobile director signed a public undertaking to maintain a fair pricing system throughout the changeover.

While doing their shopping, customers can rest assured that companies displaying the symbol – including Go Mobile – will not be taking advantage of the euro changeover for profiteering. The participating companies will be monitored by the Euro Observatory (under the Ministry of Finance) to ensure the pledge is honoured.
