A meeting was held last Tuesday between Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi and former minister John Dalli.

The meeting, which was held at Castille, had been made urgent following Mr Dalli’s vehement reaction to the court sentence that sent investigator Joe Zahra to prison. Mr Dalli gave various comments to the Sunday papers and One News and he also wrote a scathing article in The Sunday Times.

The meeting was first set for Thursday but was put forward to Tuesday.

Contacted by this newspaper, Mr Dalli confirmed the meeting did in fact take place but said he did not want to comment on what was said.

Efforts to contact the Prime Minister yesterday proved fruitless.
