Over the next few months Vocalise will be organising a series of activities, part of the EU Youth Initiative Programmes. The project, “Youths make Music”, consists of a fresh and innovative investigation by young people of their role in music in a national and European context. In the realisation of this project, the young people aim to involve as many youths as possible and to inspire, encourage and induce other youths to take initiatives in the field of classical music.

This journey of investigation and study will consist of discussions, workshops and concerts.

The highlight of this project will be on 10 and 11 February, when Vocalise will perform two musical works at the Manoel Theatre: the “Liebeslieder Walzter” (Love song waltzes) by Johannes Brahms and “Moralities” by Hans Werner Henze.

Throughout this project initiated by Vocalise, the young singers’ objective is to develop their talents and potential as artists, as well as expand and encourage other young people’s awareness of their talents, potential and responsibilities to society. All the activities in the project aim at youths and at tackling issues raised by youths as they enter adult society.

On 12 January at Palazzo de La Salle in Republic Street Valletta, a group of young singers will performi works by Mozart, Schubert, Brahms and Schumann. The singers are Claudia Tabone, Corazon Mizzi, Marouska Attard, Kevin Caruana and Charlene Aquilina.

The concert starts at 7.30pm and is open to the general

public.
