I would like to express my appreciation and sense of gratitude to outgoing Archbishop Mgr Joseph Mercieca for the sterling work he has carried out since his appointment more than 30 years ago.

Mgr Mercieca led by example and was a beacon of light to us Catholics in Malta, especially in difficult times.

I would also like to take the opportunity to welcome the new Archbishop, Mgr Paul Cremona, and wish him good health.
