The Gozo Business Chamber expressed its satisfaction that Gozo Channel Company Ltd has once again introduced an incentive which would encourage more people to visit Gozo.
The reduced fare of Lm3.60 for a passenger crossing with a car, from Monday to Sunday between November and May after 5.15pm, is definitely a move in the right direction. The fact that local hoteliers and restaurateurs participating in this scheme are also offering ticket refunds for clients who spend a certain amount of money in their premises, makes this scheme all the more attractive because now these travellers can say they have travelled to Gozo for free, the chamber said.
The Chamber is certain that the company, ably led by the Gozitan chairman Joe Borg, together with the Investment, Industry and Information Technology Ministry, can come up with more ideas and incentives to make Gozo a separate tourist destination, especially in the difficult shoulder months.
