Local champions Birkirkara FC are giving a trial to Czech Republic player Lucas Nachtman, at least till the end of the month.
Nachtman, a 22-year-old central defender, had to arrive yesterday afternoon in Malta and should have joined his new team-mates for yesterday evening’s training session.
The youngster is a product of Slavia Prague, one of the top teams in the Czech Republic but has not yet played in the senior string of the club.
If he leaves a good impression – he might also be given the chance to play in the forthcoming top friendlies against De Graafschap of Holland and Milan of Italy early next month – then the Stripes might sign him on loan till the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Italian Angelo Paradiso, who has been very disappointing so far, might have his contract terminated.
