After the great success obtained last year with Sleigh Bells in the City – the live family Christmas show, and the recent Golden Oldies show during the Malta Arts Festival – Summer 2006, Spiteri Lucas Entertainment (SLE) has prepared a special Christmas spectacular. This is a live, interactive and entertaining show for the whole family called Jingle Jangle @ Christmastime which will be staged at St. James Cavalier Theatre in Valletta between 15 – 28 of December (excluding Christmas day). There will be both matinee and evening shows.
Nanny Jenny will take you on a trip to the fantastic land of Father Christmas. A place where toys come to life and Santa’s helpers sing, dance and perhaps grumble as well! Rest assured that no one will ever doubt Santa’s existence. But who is this charming nanny? And what happens when one of Santa’s helpers decides to quit?
Jingle Jangle @ Christmastime is an educational and an interactive fun show for the whole family packed with songs, carols, bundles of fun and of course: Christmas spirit!
Performed in colourful costumes, the show compiles a varied repertoire of popular songs. From the sing along tunes of The Twelve Days of Christmas, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Jingle Bells, The Little Drummer Boy and Sleigh-Ride to evergreen holiday hits such as Let it Snow and Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas and on a more religious note, Tu Scendi dalle Stelle. Other songs include Elvis Presley’s Blue Christmas, Cliff Richard’s Mistletoe and Wine, Showaddywaddy’s Hey Mr. Christmas as well as Boney M’s Feliz Navidad. There is also space for classical musical hits such as Do Re Mi as well as a touch from Disney’s fantasy world with Cruella de Ville along with local traditional Christmas tunes.
Taking part in this show will be some of Malta’s top performers, namely versatile English singer/actress Julie James, Ivan Spiteri Lucas, Leontine, Neville Refalo, as well as popular actors Toni Busuttil of Minibugz fame and Mario Spiteri Snits, together with other upcoming artists. All these artists will be accompanied by a band under the direction of popular musician and singer Mark Spiteri Lucas who is also responsible for the musical arrangements. Leontine is in charge of artistic direction. Leontine and Mark also wrote the show.
Part of the profits from this production will go to Id-Dar tal-Providenza.
