An octogenarian was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash when two thieves stormed into her house in Marsaxlokk and robbed her at knifepoint.
In a statement, the police said two armed and hooded men broke into the 88-year-old’s residence in Xatt is-Sajjieda at 11.15am. The police said the robbers held her at knifepoint and demanded the cash she had in the house. The robbers made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. The elderly woman, although shocked, was not injured.
Duty magistrate Lawrence Quintano was informed about the case and appointed various experts to assist him in the inquiry.
The police are investigating.
