A 36-year-old man from Kalkara is in critical condition after falling off scaffolding at a factory at the Bulebel Industrial Estate, the police said yesterday.

The police said the incident took place at around 8am when the man was working on scaffolding at the construction site. He is said to have lost his balance and plummeted to the ground.

The man was rushed to St Luke’s Hospital where he was certified to be in critical condition.

Magistrate Lawrence Quintano held an on-site inquiry. He also appointed various court experts to assist in the inquiry.

The police are investigating.
