The Malta Academy of Performing Arts has launched a new CD single, recorded in a London studio by one of its students, 13-year-old Micaela Attard. The launch took place during an event organised by the Academy at the Radisson Baypoint Hotel.

Micaela Attard spends most of her free time playing the piano, painting, acting, swimming, going to the gym and, of course, singing. In fact, she has participated in many local festivals, in most of them successfully. These have helped her considerably to achieve more confidence on the stage.

Preparations are now in full swing for the first course organised by the academy, but run by foreign tutors, that will begin next month.

The Academy is also in discussion with other

foreign institutions that specialise in the performing arts in view of its intention to begin runing professional courses in Malta in these areas.
