A Russian 23-year-old was yesterday sentenced to six months in prison suspended for two years after admitting to trying to steal two cars.

Before Magistrate Michael Mallia, Ivan Sit was accused that last Saturday he tried to steal the cars from St Paul’s Bay, that he violently resisted police and that he caused damage to a car belonging to Angele Ciscaldi from Mosta.

The Russian youth was sentenced to six months imprisonment suspended for two years and he was also ordered to pay for damages caused.
