Luqa notched their second win of the season in a match they dictated for long stretches with Gzira failing to keep in touch with the teams challenging for promotion honours.

Luqa’s reaction was immediate and they wasted two clear goal scoring opportunities through Randolph Penza and Alessandro Perrone but they deservedly drew level just before the break with Cumbo’s free-kick being headed in by Chris Penza.

During the second-half Luqa remained the better team and they made it 3-1 in the 57th minute through Randolph Penza following a Perrone through-pass.
