Bondi Plus producer and presenter Lou Bondi has objected to the ban on a programme “on the John Dalli case” imposed by the PBS editorial board.

In a letter to PBS editorial board chairman John Camilleri, Mr Bondi said that “this is the first time that such a ban has been imposed during the 15 years I have been doing broadcast journalism on PBS under 11 different chairmen”.

He noted that although the ban was imposed last Friday, he refrained from commenting about it in public until yesterday. “ I did so despite the fact that some media distorted the story by falsely claiming that I had taken the decision to stop the programme. My hope was that this matter would be resolved between us in a gentlemanly manner.”

Mr Bondi also referred the matter to the Committee of Journalists and the Press Club for a ruling on the matter.

In a counter-statement, Mr Camilleri reiterated that the case is still sub judice and that Mr Bondi has a conflict of interest in the matter.

It said Where’s Everbody are contracted by PBS and are subject to decisions taken by the editorial board.
