Shooting: MSSF Honours its top athletes

The MSSF honoured its top athletes during the recent Christmas presentation dinner at The Dolmen Resort in Qawra last week.

On this occacion shooters from all disciplines, Trap, Skeet, Double Trap and Air Weapons were presented with certificates for winning trophies during the past year.

Among the MSSF guests was the MOC President Mr Justice Lino Farrugia Sacco who made the presentation. He also praised the federation for it’s achievments both locally and most of all in international events.

MSSF president Saviour Portelli thanked all the members for their support for the federation. He also thanked the Malta Olympic Committee for its recogniation of the MSSF’s achievements with The Platinum Award for Rebecca Madyson’s silver medal in Melbourne Commonwealth Games, William Chetcuti’s Gold Award and Rodney Micallef and William Chetcuti as Double Trap team for the Bronze Award.

The president also thanked the MOC for recognising the late Larry Vella for his achievment during Moscow Olympics 1980 and including him in its Hall Of Fame.

Certificates were presented to Trap shooters Frans Pace, Eugene Borg, Ryan Bugeja, Nazzareno Attard, Stephen Vella, Nicky Carabott, Rennie Deguara, George Cassar, Joe Attard and William Chetcuti.

Skeet Shooters Clive Farrugia, Paul Vella, Robert Mula, Jason Sciberras, Darren Vella, Max Fenech, Ray Camilleri and Silvio Attard. Air weapons shooters Lawrence Darmanin, William Vella, Patrick Azzopardi, Mario Abela and Martin Grech.
