A man was reported to be in critical condition after he was hit by a car in St Andrew’s Road, St Julian’s.

The police said the accident happened at 2am yesterday.

The man, a 43-year-old from Birkirkara, was crossing the road when he was hit by a car being driven by a 24-year-old from Vittoriosa.

The injured man was taken to St Luke’s Hospital where he was found to be suffering from serious injuries and was being kept in intensive care.

Magistrate Silvio Meli appointed several experts to draw up a report. The police are investigating.
