Heartless Act

Malta Independent Friday, 22 December 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

On Thursday 7 December, we had the ceremony of the blessing of the “Memory Tree” at the Millennium Chapel.

This has been done for the last four years to commemorate our beloved ones who passed away under tragic circumstances.

After reciting the rosary, and a short talk given by Fr Hilary, “hearts” with the engraved names of our dear ones are placed on the tree.

Unfortunately, on Saturday 14 December all the hearts were stolen. They are of no value to whoever took them, but this action has hurt us families, including Fr Hilary, immensely.

When are we going to learn how to respect other people’s sentiments?

Should anyone come across these brass hearts, kindly leave them at the Millennium Chapel. No questions will be asked.
