Spectacular Weekend by the Malta Feline Guardians Club

Malta Independent Saturday, 23 December 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

The International Cat Show organised by the Malta Feline Guardians Club was a complete success, with over 1,200 people attending on both days. The General Best for Saturday was won by Ch.Dicioto Carati Isidoro. On Sunday there was a different winner: Micabliss Natalia.

The two foreign judges, Ms Laura Ghirimoldi and Mr Paulo Ruschi decided to give a special award on Sunday for the Super General Best which was won again by Micabliss Natalia.

Another award was for the kittens participating on both days of the show.

On Saturday, the judges choose 10 kittens which on Sunday competed for the title Best Christmas Kitten title. The winner was Micabliss Swami. The kitten was presented with a crown brought especially from Italy. During the show, the judges noticed that some cats were not up to the standard that was written on their pedigree and unfortunately they had to be judged under the category of house cats. Other than that, their comments were very positive especially from the American judge, Mr Paulo Ruschi who is the Vice-President of the WCF

(World Cat Federation). He was very satisfied with the set-up and the organisation in general. He didn’t expect that after being members for just one year, the MFGC would host such an amazing show. He commented that other clubs, even after several years as full members, never put up this kind of show.

Other positive comments came from the sponsors of the show: Micabliss Persians, Eukanuba, Royal Canin, Almo Nature, Posy Pearls, Joseph Cassar, Feel Good Wellness Spa and Aroma TV Programme.

The president of the MFGC, Mr Kevin Charles Micallef thanked all the committee members who worked extremely hard to put up this

show, the sponsors for all their help, the exhibitors who participated and also the members of the general public who support every event that the MFGC holds. The MFGC will host another cat show on 18 February at the Coastline Hotel. Besides this, the next International Cat Show will be held on 24 and 25 March at the Westin Dragonara Resort.

Again two foreign judges will be present, this time from Belgium. Applications are now open for both shows. For more information, you can
