Two Gozitan teenagers were reported to be in critical condition after they were involved in a traffic accident in Ghajn Xejba in Xaghra, Gozo on Thursday afternoon.

The 17-year-old boys were riding a scrambler and crashed into a Mitsubishi Pajero that was driven by a 48-year-old man from Xaghra, who only suffered slight injuries.

The teenagers, both from Xaghra, were rushed to the Gozo General Hospital and were certified to be in critical condition. They were then taken to St Luke’s Hospital by helicopter.

Magistrate Paul Coppini appointed several experts to draw up a report. The police are investigating.
