A four-point plan to unblock the current impasse in the Middle East was discussed recently during a visit by the MLP’s International Secretary Joe Mifsud to the Social-Democrat leader Meretz-Yachad Yossi Beilin at the Knesset.

One idea that was mooted spoke of holding talks in Malta with parties that had not been involved so far in the peace talks process.

Dr Mifsud recently organised a visit to Malta by Dr Mustafa Barghouti, during which contacts were made in a bid to set up a national Palestinian government between Hamas and Fatah.
