APS Bank is honoured that one of the last official engagements of Mgr Giuseppe Mercieca’s long and distinguished archbishopric was his patronage of the latest APS Bank’s flagship annual concert.

Held in St John’s Co-Cathedral on 1 December, the concert, which proved an exceptional musical experience, was dedicated to a Messa Grande by 19th century composer Giuseppe Spiteri Fremond OSA.

Soloists, musicians and a highly capable choir made this particular concert a memorable occasion appreciated by music afficionados and the public at large.

The event was supported by a packed audience that included the Prime Minister, bishops, parliamentarians, members of the judiciary and the diplomatic corps.

APS Bank chairman Professor E.P. Delia personally thanked all those who had

contributed towards making the concert a

success.

He also took the opportunity to thank one of the bank’s advisers, musicologist Joseph Vella Bondin, and Mro John Galea for reviving and editing the music manuscripts preserved in the archives of the Augustinian convent in Valletta.
