In memory of former President Ford, the US Embassy in Malta will have a condolence book available in the lobby of the US Embassy, St Anne Street, Floriana from 11.30am to 4.30pm, on 29 December, and 2-3 January. The public is invited to visit the embassy to sign the book in honor of the 38th President of the United States. The condolence book will be given to Mrs Ford by the US Department of State.

Gerald R. Ford was the 38th President of the United States. He served in the US House of Representatives from 1948 until his appointment as Vice President of the United States in 1973. He became president in 1974 upon the resignation of Richard Nixon and was in office until 1977. President Bush honoured former President Ford when he said, “The American people will always admire Gerald Ford’s devotion to duty, his personal character, and the honourable conduct of his administration. We mourn the loss of such a leader, and our 38th president will always have a special place in our nation’s memory.”
