The first transfer of the January window will soon be completed as Pieta’s Under 21 international defender Andrew Spiteri has agreed to move to champions Birkirkara.

The youngster was unsettled lately at the Hotspurs where he lost his place in the senior string. In fact, he has failed to attend training sessions with Pieta in the past few days after requesting a move.

Birkirkara yesterday confirmed that they had agreed with Pieta on a transfer fee and if everything is finalised, he will be available to play for the Stripes as from next week. But he will have to wait till 13 January to make his Premier League debut for the Stripes. On that day, the Stripes will be facing Marsa. Next weekend, Birkirkara will be inactive.
