MLP Leader meets Commonwealth Secretary-General

Malta Labour Party (MLP) Leader Alfred Sant met the Commonwealth Secretary-General Donald C. McKinnon at the party’s headquarters in Hamrun.

Mr McKinnon said the Commonwealth is carrying out a number of important projects focused on helping its member-states develop their IT infrastructure and garner greater economic benefits out of their Commonwealth membership. He also spoke about the Commonwealth’s efforts in maintaining its relevance and increase its credibility throughout its member states.

Dr Sant said the party takes a keen interest in the Commonwealth and that once in government it will strive to gain advantages offered by membership.

Mr McKinnon yesterday also met Justice and Home Affairs Minister Tonio Borg and Foreign Affairs Minister Michael Frendo.
