Zammit Says few tickets are still available for sale

Birkirkara chairman Victor Zammit yesterday announced that it is likely there will be a capacity crowd at Ta’ Qali Stadium on Tuesday evening.

He said: “Ticket sales have exceeded our expectations. We have printed 17,400 tickets, but only a few thousands – most of them behind the goalposts – remained to be sold. At this rate we are expecting to sell these tickets in the remaining days before the match. If still available, tickets will be on sale on Tuesday evening at Ta’ Qali before the match,” he said.

Zammit said this was a prestigious event for his club. “It’s not just the match on Tuesday. This visit by such a renowned club worldwide has given our club, as well as the country in general, a very good image. It was no joke to organise such an event with all the big risks one has to take to assure success from all aspects,” he added.

He said the last few tickets are obtainable mostly from Birkirkara FC in Valley Road, or from Vodafone (Birkirkara Bypass) and Gilardu Kiosk in Republic Street, Valletta.

He said the side’s players were all looking forward to the match. “They are all excited and honoured to be playing a friendly against such top stars,” he remarked.
