The Malta Gymnastics Federation organised successfully the Elite Artistic Gymnastics Championships.

The competition was held in two venues, at Vincenzo Brared Boys School Ta’ Paris and Gymstars Tarxien.

The clubs who competed were ISC, Acro Jumpers and Gymstars. Malta’s best gymnast took part in this important event.

The Girls competed on Floor, Uneven Bars, Beam and Vault. The girls who took part in this competition were Audrey Schembri, Christina Borg, Francesca Borg and Nicolette Schembri.

Francesca Borg from Gymstars was declared as the national champion scoring 45.175. Second place was gained by Nicolette Schembri from Gymstars who scored 44.17. Christina Borg from ISC came third by scoring 42.725.

The boys competed on Floor, High Bar, Paralell Bars, Pommel Horse, Vault and Rings.

The six boys who competed in this event were Jeremy Saywell, Terence Gatt, Andre Buhagiar, Philip Caruana Turner, Isaac Camilleri and Matthias Camilleri.

Jeremy Saywell from Acro Jumpers won the all round national champion title gaining the gold medal by scoring 71.20.

Philip Caruana Turner from Gymstars was second scoring 66.35.

Third place went to Terence Gatt from Acro Jumpers who scored a total of 65.9.
