The year that has just finished seems to have brought with it an improved situation for all Maltese families. The measures that were announced in the budget have increased people’s spending power and this could be seen through the way people celebrated over the Christmas period.

Each time I went out, I saw restaurants full, or nearly full and people buying to their heart’s content.

What will 2007 bring?

I hope that the momentum that was gained in the last part of 2006 will be maintained this year. The country has gone through hard times over the past three years, but now it appears that things have started to shape up and we can only look to our future with optimism.
