The Electoral Commission is receiving applications from people whose name appears in the last issue of the Local Councils’ Electoral Register to serve as assistant electoral commissioners or to serve as counters, supervisors or calculators during the local council elections to be held on 10 March.
The localities where the elections will take place are Vittoriosa, Qormi, Siggiewi, Attard, Birzebbuga, Floriana, Gzira, Gharghur, Hamrun, Kercem, Luqa, Marsaxlokk, Mosta, Munxar, Paola, Qala, Safi, San Lawrenz, Santa Lucija, Swieqi, Xaghra and Zebbug (Gozo).
Persons who are registered as voters in localities where elections are being held cannot apply to serve as commissioners. They may however apply to serve during the counting of votes for the aforementioned localities except for that locality under which they are registered as voters.
Applications will be received by the Electoral Commission at its office, Evens Building, St Elmo Square, Valletta and the Identity Cards Office, 7A, Republic Street, Victoria from Thursday to 18 January from 3pm to 7pm except on Sunday. On Saturday, applications will be received from 8am to 1pm.
