The Union Haddiema Maghqudin yesterday issued a statement expressing its disagreement at the way the restructuring of Maltacom Group is being handled.

The union said that it had been informed of the said restructuring by the company itself. In fact, the company’s management yesterday informed employees within the Network Operation Centre and those within the commercial sector that the staff complements in those areas were to be reduced.

In addition, the union was also informed that workers in these two sectors were informed that they would have to reapply for the posts they hold.

The union said that the employees were not being appreciated and rewarded for their long service over the years.

In light of the above, the UHM requested an urgent meeting with the company management to discuss the situation.
