Activities at Bay Street during the New Year weekend attracted crowds of people. The shows put up by Circo Bellucci proved to be extremely popular with visitors. Other activities included the BMX stuntmen from the circus with their live acts in the Rotunda.

The Bay Street activities also included a number of variety shows presented by Martin Sapiano with the participation of Elaine and Clayton, the Josray dancers, an Elvis impersonator, violinist Simon Vella and Brooke Borg. The events on New Year’s Eve included a live gig by J Anvil who was accompanied by the Pro Touch Dancers. Other singers included Corinne Turner and her students, Josef and Amanda, Lyndsey Pace and Vanessa Gatt.

The evening came to an end with a break-dance exhibition, a jazzy performance by the Brilioz Sax Quartet and a classical recital by soprano Ruth Casingena and her students.
