The MLP cannot continue acting in such an irresponsible way and try to stop our country’s progress, especially with regard to the changeover to the euro which will mean fewer expenses to Maltese importers and exporters, Member of the European Parliament David Casa said yesterday in a discussion meeting.
Mr Casa said partisan politics that are being used by the Labour Party are a repetition of techniques already used in the past. “This may cause harm to our country,” he said.
Mr Casa was speaking during a public discussion held in Paola as part of the series of Familja Wahda talks. Mr Casa is a member of the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee within the European Parliament.
Mr Casa said: “We cannot let the Labour Party block our country’s path toward prosperity and progress offered by the European Union and the introduction of the euro.”
Together with MEP Casa, Minister Censu Galea and PN MP Michael Axiaq addressed the public from the fourth district.
Minister Censu Galea spoke about the success being achieved by the business sector. “When an organisation such as GRTU shows its satisfaction at governmental initiatives, this proves that the government’s plan is a good one,” he said.
“The validity of a political party is to be able to recognise the best steps for a prosperous future and the PN proved that it is able to do so,” said Dr Axiaq.
The PN has always believed in the Maltese workers’ abilities and maintained a vision to assure a better future for this country, Mr Casa concluded.
