Luxol bounced back, as expected, after their defeat by Loyola in the league, to advance into the semis at the expense of a hapless Suns side, who are facing a torrid time this season. The Violets had already beaten the same opponents earlier on in the league.
Luxol had some missing players in this game – Diane Muscat and Kirsten Micallef among others – while Suns had Joline Cossai in their ranks, for the first time.
Luxol swept Suns off their feet in the first session after which they led 22-2. They continued to increase their lead in a second session which they won 22-4, for a 44-6 lead at the interval.
They slowed down in the final two sessions, but still emerged more than comfortable winners.

Hibs Medsea-Sliema Wanderers 90-38
(14-6)(10-11)(38-11)(28-10)
Hibs accompanied Luxol into the semis, disposing of Sliema, and beating them for the third time this season. An overwhelming performance after the interval was enough for the champions to dispel any doubts. A good scoring spree for Beverlee Zammit, including her now customary treys, highlighted the match, which was a bit drab in the first part.
HIBS: 33 Beverlee Zmmit, 18 Lucienne Bezzina, 13 Maria Desira
