It seems as if it is difficult for Bulgarian defender Emil Yantchev to rejoin Birkirkara, at least during this transfer window.

The defender was on the books of Marsa and played for them until a few weeks ago when his contract was terminated.

It seems as if the problem lies in his registration as he may have been registered with Birkirkara at the start of the season, although he did not play for them.

In the meantime, Birkirkara are looking at another option. As had been reported in this newspaper last month, Nigerian Precious Monye could become the Stripes’ third foreigner if he accepts the deal which the champions are expected to offer him till the end of the season.

Monye, one of their best players last season when the Stripes won the title, has been training with the Stripes once again after recovering from a knee injury.
