Court: Man Charged with attempted theft

A 22-year-old man was placed on probation for three years yesterday after he pleaded guilty to charges of attempted theft from a residence in Naxxar.

Sean Grima from Senglea was accused of trying to steal from a private residence in Naxxar on Sunday afternoon at 3pm along with another two men.

Before magistrate Audrey Demicoli, Mr Grima was also accused of damaging the front door of the residence and relapsing.

Police inspector Geoffrey Azzopardi prosecuted and Dr Renzo Porsella Flores appeared for Mr Grima.

As reported in yesterday’s newspaper, 32-year-old Jesmond Cassar from Cospicua was jailed for two years and 20-year-old Tyrone Craig Dark from Senglea was put under probation for three years.
