Parliament: Over-65 And teaching

There are 71 full-time lecturers or professors and 89 part-time lecturers at the university and 26 persons teach at the Junior College. Of these, 89 are over 60 years of age and of these 89, 33 are over 65 years of age, Education Minister Louis Galea told Labour MPs Silvio Parnis and Carmelo Abela.

Investigation into dog abuse

The recent much-publicised case of dogs that were hanged in Gozo is still being investigated by Gozo district police, Justice Minister Tonio Borg told Nationalist MP Mario Galea.

Mr Galea said this was a case that had shocked all Malta and he wanted to know details of the police investigation.

Dr Borg replied that the owner of the farmhouse has reported that items have been stolen from his property. A number of people have been questioned by the police and some searches have been carried out for the articles connected with this crime, the minister said.
