Nobody surpasses the Nationalists when playing around with other people’s money! They are known for throwing lavish parties with enough food to feed a thousand lions and flying abroad as if it was as important as cod liver oil is to a thin and frail human being. All this, of course, from our piggy-bank!

They are not in the least troubled that poverty is raising its miserable head to the extent that now it is the middle classes who are getting pounded in their stomachs.

In Malta’s political history, there has never been a time when the Nationalists left money in Malta’s box. They always managed to somehow spend every teeny weenie lira, with little to show how and on what they spent the money on.

They knew beforehand, when they were pushing the Commonwealth to organise their conference in Malta, that we were literally drowning in debt, but they didn’t care.

CHOGM VIPs came, saw, conquered, and left. The Nationalist Party bored us over and over again about the way this conference was going to be the start of something compelling, that it was going to be opening doors for tourists from all over the world, that people were going to flock to visit Malta with all the publicity the CHOGM conference gave us.

But not only did we not gain in terms of the number of tourists who visited Malta, but in fact fewer came over.

The Nationalists are losing the credibility of the Maltese nation with regard to our financial position in full view of the whole world and we have reached a stage where no one believes any statistics that are published.

CHOGM came and went without leaving any fruit of their “labour”. Who’s coming next?
