Indeed, the three PN councillors from the tiny Gozitan village of Qala took a courageous stand when they stated publicly in a recently published newsletter, that they were against this much-discussed Hondoq project, even though their party leader and Prime Minister declared that he was in favour of this development.
Labourites might interpret this divergence in opinion as an internal split within the party. Yet, the beautiful thing in this otherwise thorny issue is that, contrary to other “major” parties in Malta, everyone within the Nationalist Parry has got the sacred right to openly voice his opinion.
These councillors have shown that for them, the well-being of their village is far more important than anything else, and for this they have our full support and approval.
