United World Colleges (UWC) is the only global educational movement that brings together students from all over the world at a pre-university level, regardless of their ability to pay. Students are selected on merit and live together in an environment designed to foster international understanding, peace and justice. High academic standards are balanced by opportunities for personal development through extensive community service, a wide range of cultural activities and rigorous outdoor pursuits.

Today there are 12 United World Colleges across the world, each with students from many different countries and cultures. The colleges share a common mission, but each has its own distinctive character. More than 35,000 students have experienced a UWC education since the first college opened in 1962. These graduates are evidence of the organisation’s success and carry forward the commitment to peace and understanding in an international context developed while living and studying at a United World College.

This year, the scholarships on offer are:

• a full two-year scholarship at the Adriatic College, in Duino, Italy for an International Baccalaureate diploma for students born between 1989 and 1991;

• a full two-year Music Scholarship at the Adriatic College, in Duino, Italy for students born between 1989 and 1991. The selected candidate will also follow an IB diploma course;

• a partial scholarship for a three-year High University Diploma course in Farm Administration at the Simón Bolívar Agriculture College, Venezuela for students aged 18-21.

Application forms may be collected from Customer Care, Education Division, Floriana or the Education Division Office, Victoria, Gozo. Completed application forms will be received at these offices until Friday 23 February 2007.
