Prime Minister Gonzi dropped in to attend a service at Blackburn Cathedral yesterday week.

Dr Gonzi was in East Lancashire for a three-day visit organised by Padiham Transport firm Fraser Eagle.

Dr Gonzi officially opened Fraser Eagle’s new headquarters in the Shuttleworth Mead Business Park last week. During his cathedral visit he met the Bishop of Blackburn, the Right Rev Nicholas Reade and the Very Reverend Christopher Armstrong, Dean of Blackburn as well as Richard Tanner, the cathedral’s director of music.

The cathedral choir also performed for the Maltese head of government.

Dr Gonzi visited the Accrington Stanley’s ground and watched the Blackburn Rovers vs Arsenal match at Ewood Park.
