PN To face electorate ‘confidently’

Malta Independent Sunday, 21 January 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

In the coming months the Nationalist Party will face the electorate confidently since over the past years it has managed to transform challenges it faced into opportunities and positive results for everybody’s benefit.

Speaking at a seminar in Gozo, Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi said that these results emerge from statistics that have not been to Dr Alfred Sant’s liking who is doing his best to discredit the PN in government.

Dr Gonzi said the results are reflected in the budget, which the government introduced through consultations with the people of Malta and Gozo. The budget announced last October focused mainly on the increase in prosperity as well as its distribution in order to ensure more financial stability for the Maltese.

The Prime Minister spoke about the reduction in income tax rates as well as the initiatives taken in the self-employed sector and the employment opportunities for those returning to work, with particular emphasis on women.
