Atturi Salesjani continue to stage plays written by Agatha Christie at their theatre in Sliema.

This season they will be staging one of the best novels written by this English writer… The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. This is considered to be her masterpiece and those attending this production will soon know the reason why.

Adapted for the stage as Alibi, it has been translated into Maltese by Tonio Vassallo.

In the quiet village of King’s Abbot, a widow’s suicide has stirred suspicion and dreadful gossip. There are rumours she murdered her first husband, that she was being blackmailed and that her secret lover was Roger Ackroyd.

Then Ackroyd is found murdered – and all the members of the household stand to gain from his death. Hercule Poirot, who has retired to King’s Abbot to grow vegetable marrows, is reluctantly drawn into finding an extremely clever, devious killer.

This production will be staged on Saturday 27 January at 7.30pm and on Sunday 28 January at 6.30pm at the Salesian Theatre in Howard Street, Sliema. The direction is in the hands of Tonio Vassallo.
