St. Patrick 1 Mosta 1

New signing Daniel Theuma, who played a good part of the match with an injured shoulder, obtained a dramatic 96th minute equaliser for his new side Mosta, beating goalkeeper Cassar direct from a freekick.

It must be said that justice was done as Mosta dominated a good part of the match finding in the Saints' goalkeeper Cassar an unbeatable hurdle. St Patrick defended for long stretches, practically the whole first half and the last portion of the match. The Saints' best moments came on the resumption of play especially after taking the lead through a glorious header by league top scorer Kenneth Abela.

The result is surely not enough for Molzahn's boys who are still lying desperately in troubled waters, one place from bottom.

Mosta made several changes from their last outing against Tarxien. Still without Ives Bilocca, they lost Ryan Deguara who was injured during the warm up phase. Mosta however recovered Brian Agius and Carlos Camenzuli with Philip Camilleri relegated to the substitute's bench.

Mosta paraded their two new signings, Daniel Theuma who played as a central defender and striker Anthony Ewurun who served his suspension and could finally make his debut for Mosta.

Mosta immediately took control of the midfield sector and the Saints' goalkeeper Cassar was immediately called into action saving a Camenzuli header. The Zabbar custodian had to intercept numerous dangerous crosses from the flanks as the Blues looked determined to grab the points at stake.

Cassar made his best save on 20 minutes when he brilliantly saved a thunderous Daniel Theuma freekick. Mosta continued to show the better ideas and Cassar was again called in action to save a good Ewurun effort.

Mosta went close again in the dying minutes of the first half with a Mario Abela cross shot that was again brilliantly saved by Cassar.

The second half started with St Patrick's first attempt at goal through a Gordon Failla freekick that was saved by Galea. And on 57 minutes St Patrick took a surprise lead when Kenneth Abela headed beautifully in a perfect Simon Zerafa freekick.

St Patrick were now the better team on the field of play with Kenneth Abela going close again with a grounder from the edge of the area. Tha Saints' goalkeeper Cassar was again superb on 75 minutes denying Mosta a certain goal from a Steve Borg header.

In the last minutes Mosta stormed desperately forward with Daniel Theuma having two freekicks going slightly over the bar.

In stoppage time with Cassar still in unbeatable form, the Saints' goalkeeper managed to palm against the crossbar a dangerous Cilia freekick. In the sixth minute of injury time Mosta were finally rewarded when Daniel Theuma was third time lucky as he finally managed to beat Cassar direct from a freekick, with the Saints' hero rather at fault in this action.
