The defence lawyers of 35 foreign women who are being accused of committing immoral acts in public will be presenting their case tomorrow after the prosecution yesterday told a Magistrates’ Court it has no more evidence to put forward.

The case involves 35 women who are all pleading not guilty to committing immoral acts in public, participating in a brothel and committing other indecent acts in public.

Twenty of the women are Russian nationals, seven are from Ukraine, four from the Czech Republic, two from Slovakia, one from Estonia and another one from Poland.

The last witnesses presented by the prosecution included police officers who participated in the raids carried out on the night between 17 and 18 November last year, and arrested the girls.

Magistrate Antonio Mizzi put off the case to tomorrow afternoon, when the defence lawyers are expected to present their case.
