Three large tents will be put up on Thursday and Friday on the occasion of the Episcopal ordination of Archbishop-elect Paul Cremona.

A prayer meeting will be held on Thursday at Mdina’s Cathedral – the eve of the Episcopal Ordination and Mgr Cremona’s 61st birthday. A tent with a seating capacity for 900 people will be put up outside.

On the day of his ordination, a tent with seating capacity of 864 people will be put

up outside St John’s Co-Cathedral. Entrance to St John’s and the tent outside is by invitation only.

Another tent for 2,500 people will be put up in St George’s Square. This will be open to the public.

Big screens will be set up in the three tents allowing people to follow the ceremony taking place inside the cathedral. On occasion, all church bells will ring at noon, while the frontispiece and crosses will be lit from sunset to 11pm.
